This is one of the best things I have watched all year. And I mean compared to all the movies and TV I watch. This is on somewhere at the top.

Episode 28: New Tools
So at the start of this year I got a whiteboard (and by got I mean dug up from my basement). It’s been a great tool for writing down broad stroke ideas and log-lines for scripts. But there is not enough room on it to outline an entire script. So today, I dug this up:
Now I have a tool to outline whole scripts one at a time. I started with a new Nikita spec that I am now two acts...
All I'm saying is that the first full episode of...

On this lovely Saturday morning, I find that I am in a very grateful mood. I have quite a few things to be grateful for and many more loved ones to be grateful to and one of them is you.

Episode 27: The Script Contest vs The Old World
So it’s been a while since I took to The Idiot’s Box to get some thoughts out, but that time has come again.
June 2010 I realized I wanted to write television. How? By entering a script contest that forced me to have a deadline. Wanting to enter that contest gave me enough of an initial spark to begin my writing journey… And have not stopped since.
The contest was to write a...

How Dave Anthony & Greg Behrendt Crafted The...
Last night I trekked into Brooklyn for a show at The Bell House. The show was called The Starfish Circus and is the brain child of stand-up comedians Greg Behrendt (this guy) and Dave Anthony (this guy). The show’s meant to be an event for fans of the podcast the two host, Walking The Room. A brilliant podcast that everyone should check out.
As a fan of the podcast, I went into The Starfish...

A fascinating and frankly inspirational editorial from SNLBound
snlbound:
I used to be pretty anal about things. I was working 70 hours a week between two jobs and taking a class or two at Nashua Community College and that was all. I would come home from work and clean my room and sort my mail into individual files in my sweet filing cabinet. I used to stay late at work…
That moment you realize that if you revise anymore...

Why Fincher Needs To Shut Up And Get To Work
When news came down last year that the most commercialy successful perfectionist working in Hollywood right now, David Fincher would be heading up a TV series for the first time, I’ll admit that I was partially excited.
And then time passed…
Earlier today news came down that Fincher, in classic Fincher style, was threatening to walk off the project if the budget was not raised....

Episode 26: Blinds and Blindsman
Yours truly walks into a Blindshop with broken blinds.
Yours truly ask Blindsman, “what’s wrong?”
Blindsman says “let me take a look.”
Blindsman walks to the back of the store with the blinds.
One minute later Blindsman comes back saying blinds are fixed.
Yours truly takes out his wallet and asks “how much for the repair.”
Blindsman just waves off...

Chuck vs...
In my freshman year of college Chuck premiere on NBC. And now, a little over half a year after my graduation it has ended.
Of all the shows I love that ended recently, this one is the most upsetting to know it won’t be coming back. But yet, I am happy. I am happy because the story got the ending it so rightfully deserved.
I’m not writing this to review the finale, I’ll do that...
